What a movie! This is probably my favorite Jackie Chan action flick. It’s got a cool car chase sequence and a few neat fight scenes. It even has a rather complicated plot!

We begin with a scene in which we’re in a cave watching these guys in "moon-suits" come up from the depths carrying some kind of rock. Some more guys wash it off and it has a copper/gold appearance. They rush it up topside to a scientist who tells another soldier-type guy to take it to their base ASAP. He does, and on the way, the thing explodes!

Next, we see some choppers dropping packages into a jungle. Then some commandos jump into the trees too. They set up an ambush for a caravan of military trucks. It seems that they want to kidnap some scientists, and they do so. For some reason, they use weapons that look non-lethal to take out the guards. They use nets and some sticky white blobs. Jackie is one of the commandos.

After the kidnapping, the commandos are told to go have some fun. However, as their chopper is taking them to the next destination, the pilots leap out the door after sabotaging the controls. Jackie grabs one of the pilots as he leaps and gets him to tell them why he’s doing this right before they crash. Jackie falls before the crash and is knocked unconscious.

Some African natives find Jackie and take care of him. Jackie has lost his memory and can’t remember his name. Eventually, the natives find the helicopter wreck and take Jackie to it. He doesn’t know anything about it, but he has flashbacks which seem to confuse him more.

Anyway, he eventually finds a rally car that’s having trouble. He sees that one of the drivers got snake bit while trying to change the tire on his vehicle. So he tries to help and the driver’s sister (who’s up on a hill trying to signal help) sees this native that looks like he’s eating her brother. So she rushes down there and a fairly funny scene ensues. Jackie had just started chewing on some kind of plant that would neutralize the poison, so when she comes up, he can’t talk.

Well, he helps her bro and wins the race too. Jackie finds out that the girl’s name is Yuki (Mirai Yamamoto). Well, while at the hospital, a reporter named Christy Spark (Michelle Ferre) approaches to interview Jackie because of his winning the race and all. He escapes her and gets a visit from the CIA.

There’s just too much that happens in this movie to list it all. The information covered will give you a good idea of the story and how it all begins. I’ll just go to the "Stuff" section and describe the stuff you need to see:

Good Stuff:

The first real fight sequence between Jackie and South Africa’s internal security. And his neat escape from them.
Jackie escapes from some assassins in his hotel room!
There’s a cool car chase sequence with Jackie, Christy, and Yuki. They’re running from some assassins hired by a CIA agent gone bad (Ron Smerczak)…
Yuki’s techniques for helping Jackie regain his memory.
Yuki’s dub…
Jackie’s fight in Rotterdam’s streets…watch for the wooden shoes and the jerk in the green jacket…
There’s a cool scene near the end of the movie between Jackie and a Kung-Fu guy and a kick-boxer. This part is long and really neat to see!

Bad Stuff:

The violence is probably too much for young viewers.
There’s a little swearing, I think.
There’s a nasty looking dead guy in a tree…definitely not good for young viewers!
Lame ending…

This movie supports the environment and starving children. It doesn’t do this is an overbearing manner like the Toho films, but it’s there. In fact, the "Save the Children’s Fund" has an integral part in the movie that is rather humorous.

I enjoy this movie. If you like action movies, then this one is for you. However, you’ll need to be patient because it takes a little while before the action really gets going. Once it starts, it doesn’t really quit.
