From the creator of Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura, comes this odd ball romance about a student in some kind of apartment building of weirdoes.
The story follows a college aged boy who is studying to get into college. His name is Yusaki Godai (Jason Gray-Stanford). The fellow boarders at Maison Ikkoku are odd, to say the least. Akemi Roppongi (Janyse Jaud) is a lady that almost always runs around with negligee on. Hanae Ichinose (Daphne Goldrick) is a drunk mother and Yotsura (Gerard Plunkett) is a peeping tom. All three go into Godai's room and bug him so that he will continue to fail exams.
Godai has enough of this and is about to walk out when Kyoko Otonashi (Ellen Kennedy) arrives. She claims that she'll be the new proprietor and Godai falls in love. The rest of the first episode is basically about the boarders trying to bug Godai and make Godai look like a pervert as well as about Kyoko and how she settles in.
The second episode is about a Christmas party and Godai's present to Kyoko. Godai is too insecure to give the gift to her, but I'll let you watch the show to find out what he does with it. In the meantime, every other male in the show is vying for Kyoko's attention, including the 10-year old or so child of Hanae.
Neither show is funny like Ranma is, but it has a certain charm to it that I think a Takahashi fan will like.

The voice-acting was pretty good too |
The Bad Stuff:
![]() |
A little swearing, I think |

I thought this was an okay show, other than Akemi. I recommend it for Takahashi fans that want a more rounded idea of what this woman has put out.
