This is one weird movie! It has a rose that’s supposed to be part dead human and part Gojira. In fact, the scientist (who happens to be the dead girl’s father) says that Biollante and Gojira are one and the same creature. Give me a break!

One good thing about this movie is that it does seem to have a plot. And it’s a little complicated. The government wants to experiment with a Gojira cell to make a biological weapon to kill him. Other countries want the Gojira cell too for ransoming purposes. However, they manage to steal the cellular work from the scientist and they also tangle with the beginning of Biollante. (Biollante was created by the aforementioned scientist…he was trying to create an immortal flower to preserve his daughter’s soul…according to the film, he succeeded!)

The foreign agents then demand the Godzilla cells. However, if their demands aren’t met, then they’ll blast a volcano and release Gojira. I guess in a previous movie, he was imprisoned there. Thus, the Japanese government bring money or whatever to trade for the Gojira cell but they get interrupted by a Sirubian agent and he takes out the controls that were going to stop the explosion to release Gojira…so Gojira comes out and starts wreaking havoc.

If one pays attention, one will notice a really annoying dub. The people are always saying Godziller instead of Gojira. I hate it! What’s wrong with these people!? Isn’t it bad enough that they screw up the movie with lots of needless swearing? Must they also mis-pronounce the star’s name too!!!??

Japan’s Super X tries to take out Gojira by using Gojira’s breath back at him.

Well, anyway, once Gojira is free, he hears the "call of the Rose" and quickly responds. I guess Biollante knows a Godzillasaurus mating call or something. So, Gojira quickly goes there and fights a rose with teeth and lots of vines that end with toothy heads. Lots of green blood is splashed this way and that as Gojira is bit and the vines are eradicated by Gojira’s breath. Then Gojira starts Biollante on fire and he burns up and disintegrates.

Now Gojira needs to find some nuclear food. So he goes towards a few nuclear plants. Unfortunately, the Japanese military hired a fool and he puts all their forces in the wrong place. However, Miki(?) does a mind-meld type thing with Gojira and slows Gojira’s advance.

When Gojira finally goes into the city, he is lured over towards some buildings by the Super X. Gojira hates this flying nuisance and quickly destroys it. Unfortunately, for Gojira, he gets a dose of G-bacteria. But the military "geniuses" didn’t realize that Gojira is cold blooded, which keeps the bacteria from doing anything.

Thus, they lure Gojira onto some TC (Thunder Cloud?) fields to raise his temperature and activate the disease. Gojira starts acting woozy when Biollante descends from the sky. Then Gojira wakes right up and they do battle. This time Biollante does not look like a flower. It looks more like a mutated rat with no legs. It can control a bunch of ugly long meat eating vines too. More green blood splattering ensues and then Biollante gets burned/destroyed again. As usual, it flies away in a sparky cloud. And then Gojira stumbles into the sea and "dies" from the disease.

You’d think it would end there, but no! Instead the military and the scientists stand around congratulating themselves. The Sirubian agent doesn’t like this and promptly snipes Biollante’s "father." This leads to a short car chase and a quick fist fight. Then the Sirubian agent steps onto a TC field doohicky and gets vaporized.

And Gojira wakes up and goes back to the sea. Thus the ending scene is with the Japanese walking off a little unhappy and two other people driving off talking about having an affair. What an ending!!!

As I said at the start, this is an okay flick. But the ending is lacking and so is some of the dubbing. I personally like the music in this film quite a bit. It’s one of the better scores. And the adversary monster is always changing, so that’s cool too.
