First off, I have to say that this is an interesting movie. At least, it was for me because I’d never seen the whole thing before.
This is the first of the new movies that has the little Gojira. They call it "little one" or baby a lot. It’s discovered on some kind of mountain/volcano and with it, they find Radon! (AKA Rodan) Anyway, Gojira mixes it up with Radon and he’s soon presumed dead. He put up a lousy fight anyway. But he does look kind of cool now. However, since Gojira and Radon find the baby Gojira egg, they both think they’re related to it.
The humans take the egg while the monsters are duking it out. Later on, it hatches and takes a liking to the nurse that monitored the egg. It’s only 6 foot in height and every time it gets scared, its eyes glow red.
I think I skipped something. Sometime around this time, probably before the egg hatches, Mecha-Godzilla is brought in to stop Godzilla. Godzilla has a decent battle with his mechanical look-alike before disabling the silly thing. Then he’s off to find his son!
He almost finds the little guy, but the scientists figure out that the creatures are telepathically linked and quickly take Baby to a shielded area. Godzilla then disappears again.
Some telepathic kids come to visit Baby with Miki and they sing an odd song for it. This increases Baby’s power and really agitates him. It also awakens Radon! Wow! The power of music!!!
The government end up taking Baby to use him as bait to get Godzilla where they want him. However, in transit, Radon grabs Baby’s container. Radon has a new power after that great singing: now he can shoot some sort of energy beam out of his mouth too. Thus, Godzilla and Radon try to kill each other. I think the G-man kicks his butt again, but I’m not sure. The Garuda and Mecha-Godzilla return to do battle too and they might have taken him out. The Garuda is something like a "souped-up" Super-X. It can join with Mecha-Godzilla and become Super Mecha-Godzilla. However, before this can happen, Gojira blasts that annoying "plane" out of the sky and it wrecks.
He also manages to take out Mecha-Godzilla. It’s Plasma Grenades weapon overheats and it takes a serious beating. Then Gojira goes looking for his son. All of a sudden, the Garuda can fly again and it quickly attaches itself to Mecha-Godzilla. This, of course, makes everything better for both machines. Even the overheated stuff now works just fine.
Earlier in the movie, they discovered that Gojira has two brains. One at the base of his tail and another in his head. They decide to take out the one in his tail so that he will be disabled. After becoming Super Mecha-Godzilla, they shoot him in the proper spot by using physic Miki. It looks bad for Gojira!
But wait, that dratted Radon is awake again! Why? Because Baby has decided to make noise!! And Radon knows just what to do. He flies over to Godzilla and dissolves into him, thus reforming Gojira’s second brain. Now Super Mecha-Godzilla is dead-metal. It gets totaled and Baby ends up going with "Papa" into the ocean.
This movie is cool in some areas, but there’s a lot of dumb stuff too.
Dumb: Mecha-Godzilla is "healed" by the Garuda."
Dumb: Radon died!
Cool: Gojira lives to come back again. (‘Nuff said.)
