I went into this anime thinking it would be pretty good and it didn't disappoint. Yuna (Cynthia Martinez II) starts out with her flying around a ship with a voice-over telling us that she has save the earth on multiple occasions.
Next, we're actually introduced to her and her friend, Yuri (Tamara Lo). They are students at a local high school or college and a new student shows up. Her name is Saline (Laura Chapman) and we find out she is a an agent sent by the evil Princess Mirage. Mirage tricked the Galactic Police into investigating Yuna on charges of conspiracy to destroy the galaxy or some such nonsense. Yuna thinks that Saline is hot and that Saline might just have the hots for her. This is the only really nasty part in the show...
Well, that's the plot. It is acted out in two parts. This is just the review for the 1st half of the show.
This show has much in common with Project A-ko and Nuku Nuku in that all three are about a girl with incredible power. A-ko has a goofy friend and so does Yuna. Yuna's friend Yuri is much better than C-ko could ever be. Yuri is constantly hungry or eating and the visuals of this sort of thing going on are quite funny.
But back to the story. Mirage sends some more women to try and lure Yuna away from the city. They blunder about, but eventually they succeed. However, Yuna helps a young boy looks for his dog and almost drowns herself before that happens.
Once she's out of the city, though, Mirage comes down in a mech and pretends to be Yuna. She attacks the city and this causes Saline to arrest Yuna. Pretty lame, but what can I say!? Well, that's it. Show's over. If you think that's annoying, watch Shinesman or Elf Princess Rane. They do something similar.

I liked Yuna a lot more than Project A-ko. Yuna is what I thought A-ko would be like. If you want some fun, short anime, then you needn't look any further. Just keep in mind that when it ends, there isn't much more. There are only two shows and one OAV.

If you were hoping the 2nd half of the show would rock like the first half, prepare to be disappointed. It's still fast-paced, but it's barely passable as a comedy. The 2nd half seems to be more of a mecha fighting show than anything else.
We begin where the last episode ended. Yuna is in trouble! She appears before the inter-galactic court (or whatever it is) and is quickly tried and found guilty. They don't bother to let her have any defense, which is really, really lame.
The rest of the show is a mess. There are a bunch of new characters and they all love Yuna. They also all try to save her. We never really learn who they are or what relation they have to her, but they all triumph over the bad guys in the end.

I thought this was a dumb way to end the show. It needs so much more background!!! Argh! Watch it if you're a masochist.
